Is the Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez wedding delayed due to the granddaddy of all prenuptial agreements?

The couple got engaged in May of last year and had a big engagement party in November.

Given Bezos’ immense wealth – the Amazon founder is worth around $205bn (£158bn) – his wedding is expected to be on a scale that will confuse the world, particularly given the diamond 30 carats worn by former television presenter Sánchez.

But, despite rumors that they would get married in the summer, they are still single. A source says: “Jeff is so crazy about her that he would get married tomorrow if he could, but I hear they are still working out a prenup.”

“His lawyers will not allow him to move forward without him.”

Another friend says: ‘Everyone is wondering when there might be an invitation. Summer was the obvious time because from now on there is Oscar campaign and Thanksgiving and it will be much more difficult to gather all your famous friends and the people who were expected to attend.

“So it’s kind of a puzzle why it hasn’t happened yet.”

But the friend added: “You won’t meet a more loved couple, so it has nothing to do with it.”

Preparing a prenuptial agreement, which would protect Bezos’ finances in the event of a split, will be a big undertaking that will cover both parties’ assets, down to cars and jewelry.

A spokesman for Sánchez says there is “no story” involving a prenuptial agreement.

News of their romance broke in 2019, when Bezos announced he was divorcing his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott, with whom he has four children. Sánchez divorced her husband, agent Patrick Whitesell.

They have two children and she has a son from a relationship with former NFL star Tony González.
