Horror as a child dies after being caught in a house fire in Australia
A young child has tragically died in hospital after being trapped in a house that went up in flames in Alice Springs.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Thorold Court in Larapinta just after 10.30am on Thursday after reports of a house fire.
Firefighters forced the burning home after a report of a child inside.
They located and dragged an unresponsive child from the home before attempting to resuscitate the child through CPR.
The child was rushed to Alice Springs Hospital, where she later died.
The detective and the fire service have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
