Alice Evans and Ioan Gruffudd's bitter divorce takes another complicated turn when she accuses him of leaving her so poor she can't "afford to feed her children" and has to rely on food stamps, while he "buys Rolexes and diamonds."

Actress Alice Evans’ messy split from her ex-actor Ioan Gruffudd took another shocking turn today as she accused her ex-husband of failing to pay child support since May, claiming she has been left in such dire financial straits that she cannot afford to “put food on the table” and will be forced to turn to food stamps.

In legal documents filed by lawyers for Evans, 55, on July 1 (which were obtained by DailyMail.com), the mother of two claims she has “100 per cent” custody of her and Gruffudd’s two daughters, Ella, 14, and Elsie, 10, but has received no financial support from him since a custody agreement was reached two months ago.

Just weeks after the couple finally reached a settlement in their divorce, Evans says she is “struggling to put food on the table” while insisting her ex-husband, 50, who is currently engaged to partner Bianca Wallace, is “travelling around the world” and living a “lavish lifestyle”.

“While I’m struggling to put food on the table for the children, Ioan is travelling around the world,” the documents state.

She claims he has bought new Rolex watches for himself and his fiancée Bianca and has been on a worldwide press tour for the latest Bad Boys movie, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, while she is about to start receiving food stamps.

Evans, 55, said she has been unable to afford food for her children and says she is forced to “apply for public assistance because she can’t support her children.”

Evans refers to “media stories” that her ex-husband “bought an expensive engagement ring for his fiancée,” alleging that he and Wallace also “recently purchased new Rolex watches.”

At the time of this story’s publication, Gruffudd and Wallace’s Instagram accounts had been removed from public view; however, a May 2024 post shared by Wallace showed her sporting a green Rolex watch.

It is unclear whether this is the watch Evans is referring to in court documents.

However, as a result of her ex’s so-called “lavish lifestyle,” she is asking the court to require Gruffudd to pay her spousal and child support until her financial trial, which has been delayed from April of this year until August.

“Alice is applying for public assistance because she is unable to support herself and her children,” her attorney states in the latest legal filing.

‘It appears that the financial trial will take several months to complete and Alice will not be able to survive without receiving the spousal support established by the guidelines.

‘Ioan has the ability to pay spousal support based on his greater earning capacity and lavish lifestyle. For these reasons, Alice requests child and spousal support in accordance with established guidelines.’

His lawyer, Janina Verano, also claims that since May 2023, Ioan Gruffudd has not seen the children outside of reunification therapy nor has he “exercised his court-ordered right” to have a telephone conversation with them three times a week. Reunification therapy ended in February this year.

“Ioan has not called the children or responded to their text messages since May 2023,” Evans said. “The children have been left in limbo and are completely confused about when or if they will see Ioan.”

In an order filed by her attorney, Evans says she does not agree to have their stipulation, or custody agreement in its entirety, sealed or kept private, which is what Gruffudd has requested, accusing him of being “dishonest” in his request to seal the legal proceedings to “protect the children.”

Evans’ attorney notes that Gruffudd “did not attempt to seal any of the DVRO (domestic violence) allegations or any of the custody allegations in which he falsely accuses Alice of abusing the children,” highlighting the fact that he only wants to seal those proceedings in which the allegations were resolved.

It also alleges that both Gruffudd and Wallace have “recently purchased new Rolex watches” (Wallace was spotted modelling a green Rolex in May this year).

“…It appears that Ioan’s ‘concern’ is misleading,” the lawyer writes. “In short, his position is that the public should have access to all of his allegations against Alice, but not to the document that resolves those allegations.”

Evans adds that the only payments agreed upon so far are $3,000 a month in interim child support.

Gruffudd also paid $7,000 per month in spousal support advances from December 2023 to April 2024. It was initially understood the financial issues would go to trial in April 2024, but that has now been postponed until August.

Meanwhile, Evans says he has had to pay $112,000 in legal fees and is in “dire” financial straits.

“I can’t wait months for a trial to get my child and spousal support,” he says, saying he currently makes about $300 a month in royalties and hopes to make more money by appearing at fan conventions.

“I have spent all of my personal savings paying my previous lawyers on this case,” she writes, explaining that while she has some designer items stored away that could be sold, she cannot afford the monthly storage fee.

“Right now, I’m behind on rent and utilities, and friends have started dropping off food and supplies for the kids to eat. I’m going to apply for food stamps and welfare.”

She claims Gruffudd makes tens of thousands of dollars a month, according to his tax returns, and that he also received “approximately $390,000 from the proceeds of the sale of the home in December 2023 alone.”

‘In this case, there is a disparity in access to funds to pay the fees because Alice earns only a few hundred dollars per month, while Ioan’s self-reported average monthly income on his Income and Expense Statement filed on January 24, 2024 is $21,023 for the 36 months ending December 31, 2023, and $18,264 for the 12 months ending December 31, 2023,’ the legal filing states.

‘In addition, Ioan continues to land roles in movies, such as Bad Boys 4, which was released this year. Ioan also received approximately $390,000 from the proceeds from the sale of the house in December 2023 alone.’

Under their prenuptial agreement, Evans says she is entitled to 20 percent of his earnings, but calls the prenup “vague and ambiguous.”

She is asking the court to pay her lawyers, alleging that she has been paying two different law firms and a forensic accountant.

In February 2022, Evans was granted a restraining order from her ex-husband after she posted a series of messages about him and his new girlfriend on social media and allegedly sent him more than 100 text messages. One of them suggested: “You got your nuts stuck in her veneers.” She denied abusing or harassing him.

The order was extended for three years in August 2022, with Evans banned from publishing about Gruffudd or Wallace.

In June last year, his eldest daughter Ella, then 13, applied for a restraining order against Gruffudd after a custody visit ended in chaos. She said: “I was very angry with my father because it was a one-night visit, and I had told him in the past that I didn’t want to meet his girlfriend, who was now his live-in girlfriend.”

She claimed Wallace slammed the door on her head as she ran out of his apartment after spilling milk and mustard in protest.

In publicly available documents, she said she was “afraid” of her father and that he had threatened to “call the police if she misbehaved” during visits.

The restraining order application was withdrawn in court by Ella, who confronted her father’s legal team.

In August last year, a judge granted Gruffudd’s request for a child psychiatrist and agreed that Evans would take the children to weekly “reunification therapy” sessions.

Evans said it was not necessary since he had not seen or called his daughters in three months.
