An emergency recall has been issued for tahini paste over fears the product may be contaminated with salmonella.
AB World Foods has recalled its Al’Fez Natural Tahini Paste 160g.
The product is sold in Woolworths stores nationwide.
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand have warned that the product could cause “illness” if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” he warns.
‘Any consumer concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’
Buyers who purchased the product have been asked to return it for a full refund.
Salmonella is a form of bacterial food poisoning that causes stomach pain and diarrhea.
The condition is usually treated by drinking plenty of fluids and, if necessary, with antibiotics.
