Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Folarin Balogun and Calum Chambers were all on target as Arsenal walked to a 4-1 win over Millwall in a friendly match, while new signing Albert Sambi Lokonga got his first taste of action in a Gunners shirt.

Chambers gave Arsenal the lead in the first half by tapping in an open goal after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit the crossbar with an overhead kick.

Coach Mikel Arteta brought in Lokonga, who came to Arsenal from Anderlecht for £15 million earlier this month, while also introducing Lacazette, Nuno Tavares and Karl Hein.

Lacazette made a quick impression when he doubled Arsenal’s lead by heading home a cross from Chambers.

Arsenal’s front three then delivered a stylish third goal as Aubameyang defeated a defender on the left and crossed over to Lacazette, who made a dummy and let Pepe score instead.

Emile Smith Rowe started days after signing a long-term contract with the club and narrowly managed to find the net in the second half.

Millwall got a consolation goal when Alex Mitchell struck from a corner in the closing minutes.

Arsenal’s next friendly will be against Chelsea in the Mind Series on August 1, when The Gunners welcome a near-full crowd to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak.
