The show is based on a series of novels by the late fantasy and horror novelist Anne Rice, whose books include Interview with the Vampire.
It stars Alexandra as a surgeon who discovers, to her surprise, that she is descended from a coven of witches whose powers she has inherited.
Heartthrob Jack Huston, who comes from the same family as John and Anjelica Huston, co-stars as a shapeshifter who is “tied” to the coven.
The show also stars Harry Hamlin, longtime husband of former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna.
Also known by the title Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, the show’s first season premiered on January 8, 2023 on both AMC and its streamer AMC+.
It was renewed for a second season in February 2023 and appeared on the BBC 10 months after it first aired in the United States.
Joining the cast of the second installment are Thora Birch as Gifford Mayfair, Ted Levine as Julien Mayfair and Alyssa Jirrels as Moira Mayfair, according to radio times.
Last year, showrunner Esta Spaulding said Entertainment Weekly in February 2023: “We move on to the second book and, again, we have a limited number of episodes, (so) we will explore it for the wonders, riches and strangeness that are there.”
Daddario cut a stylish figure while attending a Dior event in Beverly Hills earlier this month.
The show is based on a series of books by the late fantasy-horror novelist Anne Rice, whose literary efforts included Interview with the Vampire.
Spaulding continued: “That’s really a provocation, more than anything.”
“There’s a whole section in the book where Rowan is in Europe and there’s some stuff in Scotland and there’s a lot of generations in Scotland.”
Added: “Of course we play Scotland this season, but it’s been really exciting to think about that for season two.”
AMC teased last season: “Rowan is no longer the only key witch in Mayfair’s history.”
