It’s a touching moment for Alexandra, who has returned to the stage after welcoming her second child in September last year.

The former X Factor winner has had a longer break after previously revealing she rushed back to work too soon after the birth of her first child.

Alexandra took minimal maternity leave to rejoin the touring production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2022.

The singer said on the Dirty Mother Pukka podcast: “There were times when I was about to go on stage and I don’t remember where I was, and my firstborn was crying and they were like, ‘The curtain needs to close.'” I said, “I need to feed the baby.” I said “Keep the show going.”

‘The pressure I had and felt to get my ass on that stage. I said, “Can you let me feed the baby because I’m crying on stage,” and you couldn’t open the show because I was there crying.

And as much as everyone said “the baby will be fine, it will be fine.” But I am her mother and I felt a lot of guilt, and I still have that guilt.

Alexandra said it was a big learning curve for her and “I will never allow myself to be away from my son again.”

“I also have to say that although I felt that pressure, and that moment stays with me, of course I signed up to do that show and the curtain goes up at 7:30 pm every night and I’m very conscious of that.” .

‘There are thousands of people in the audience waiting for the show to start so I don’t blame anyone for that situation. At the same time, it still excites me.”

Alexandra described motherhood as “tough” and said she does not have a big family around her, following the death of her mother Melissa in 2017.

She said: ‘If it wasn’t for my best friend, who works with me, and I think it’s one of the biggest blessings in my life, and having a team that understands that I take babies to work.

“If it wasn’t for the understanding of the people around me, I wouldn’t be able to tour and do what I’ve done.”
