Alex Reid Says His Jail Stay Was KARMA Because He Wished Ex-Wife Katie Price Badly

Alex Reid has said his recent jail time was the result of his ex Katie Price’s ill-wishers for allowing negativity into his life.

In April, the former cage fighter was sentenced to eight weeks in prison for contempt of court after lying in testimony while trying to claim damages for a car accident.

Reid served alone four weeks at HMP Pentonville in Islington, and will serve on license for the remaining four weeks while caring for his heavily pregnant fiancée Nikki Manashe.

Detailing his stay in a YouTube video, the 45-year-old admitted that he believes he has put prison on himself after pouring negative energy into the world.

He explained, “It’s the law of attraction. I always thought I would end up in jail. There is so much injustice in my life.’

Reid went on to explain that he believes his ex-wife Katie was to blame for the negative energy after she allegedly shared sex tape recordings of him.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex married Katie in Las Vegas in February 2010, but the relationship was short-lived and they divorced 11 months later.

In November 2019, Price was ordered to pay ex-husband Reid £150,000 to cover his legal costs after she was accused of playing an intimate video of him in front of a TV studio audience.

Price was accused of showing intimate images of the Celebrity Big Brother star to the 40-strong audience of Bit On The Side in January 2018.

However, the mother of five insisted she downloaded the videos in question from YouTube.

Speaking of his ordeal, Reid said, “I’ve wanted justice in my life, especially with the ex. The one with the revenge porn.

‘There are still all kinds of images, they scare me. I am totally destroyed. Countless times there has been bragging from the ex, who said she has videos that could destroy me.”

Reid was granted a Supreme Court order in 2018 to prevent Price from sharing “private and confidential information” about him after taking legal action amid claims she had shared photos and videos of a “sexual nature.”

He explained: ‘I wanted justice and that’s why I got a court order, I didn’t really feel protected because it didn’t do me anything but cost me.

“I wish I’d let her go—to even mention her name, I never want to talk about her—but I’m here, I’m talking about it. It’s a negative drain.’

He concluded, ‘I’ve wanted her to have what’s happening to me. It’s all about the law of attraction. I got exactly what I wanted, but vice versa.

“If you want something bad for someone else, you draw it to yourself. I didn’t want revenge, I wanted justice. I got justice. I’ve done something wrong and I’m sure I’ve been punished for it.’

Price also came up during a conversation with an inmate, with Reid saying:: ‘There were a few comments about my ex-wife and one about dressing up as a girl. Just one.

“Everyone could see I wasn’t one to mess with. And that’s hard in prison. You don’t want to be too strong, too alpha male, to create attention.’

A representative for Katie declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.

Reid was sentenced in April to eight weeks in prison, serving half of his time. In a rare move, Reid was not given a criminal record, but had to serve time in prison.

The Supreme Court heard that Reid filed a claim in the district court for insurance reimbursement after an Audi he drove was involved in an accident with another driver in January 2018.

As part of that submission, he said in an affidavit that he did not know a motorcyclist named Darren Summers, who was alleged to have witnessed the crash.

However, the insurers of the other drivers, Axa Insurance UK, discovered an article on a local news website about an appearance Reid made during a mixed martial arts (MMA) masterclass in Ipswich in September 2017.

The article stated that Mr Summers, a former European and world kickboxing champion, had organized the event for charity.

The former cage fighter tried to claim up to £50,000 plus £11,500 in ‘special damages’, but the court heard he would likely have received just £20,000 if the bid was successful.

Reid admitted to having contempt for the court when Axa filed a commitment lawsuit against him in the Supreme Court in January this year.

Ms Eady, who sentenced him to eight weeks in prison, said she had considered the extenuating circumstances proposed on his behalf, including the fact that his fiancé is six months pregnant and had recently been diagnosed with Asperger’s.

However, the judge said that only a prison sentence would reflect the seriousness of his dishonesty.

She said he would serve half his sentence in prison and the remaining half with a license after his release.

Reid gave his side of the story, claiming the story was “exaggerated” in the media, claiming that he was “not trying to scam anyone,” but that he was lying by pretending not to know Mr. Summers.

He confessed, “Morally I felt good… but I didn’t really understand what I was doing. I could blame him [Summers] but in the end it’s me who took his advice, i shouldn’t have.

“It was a stupid thing. Even Nikki, my dear wife, told you not to. I am a good person, good in my heart. I don’t think it was my fault, but I lied that I didn’t know my witness.’

Reid is just weeks away from welcoming a baby with fiance Nikki, 36, after a seven-year fertility battle.

In November, the couple confirmed they were expecting twins, but unfortunately Nikki miscarried in December.

In his YouTube video, Alex mused, “I feel tremendously guilty for the people I left behind, the people who needed me.

“My fiancé who is seven weeks away from giving birth. We had to go to hospital twice in the last month with complications – she is extremely stressed. I felt so selfish.’

Manashe is due July 18, the day before Reid’s birthday.

Sportsman Alex also shares an eight-year-old daughter Dolly, with ex-partner Chantelle Houghton.
