Alex Pike takes a busty walk in Melbourne as Nathan Buckley comes under fire for covid tweet

Her boyfriend Nathan Buckley came under fire on Sunday after he shared a bizarre post questioning the infectivity of the Delta coronavirus strain.

But Alex Pike brushed off the controversy on Monday morning, ignoring the drama and instead enjoying an early morning walk and yoga session on her own.

The 44-year-old cosmetic nurse, who had re-shared Buckley’s post hours earlier on her own Instagram page, was all smiles as she set out for a walk through Melbourne amid Victoria’s fifth lockdown.

Alex, who previously revealed she walks 50km a week to maintain her physique, wore an army bomber jacket that flashed just a hint of her ample assets during her 7-hour walk.

The beauty guru flashed a bright white smile as she walked down the street with lots of makeup on her face, before raising her hand in joy.

She then stripped down to skimpy gym gear for an indoor yoga session, recorded the sweat-inducing update and shared it on Instagram.

Her training regimen comes after her recently retired Collingwood coach claimed the highly contagious Delta strain was not as contagious as claimed in a tweet on Sunday.

Victoria was shut down on Thursday for the fifth time in 16 months after the latest outbreak in NSW crossed the border.

The state registered 16 new cases on Sunday, prompting Buckley to join the Covid debate in his first Twitter post since leaving Collingwood in June.

He tweeted: ‘53,283 tests yesterday in Victoria, probably the most from people exposed to people and places with confirmed positives… 16 new positives.

“So, how contagious is this thing again? My logical brain doesn’t understand.’

Alex posted her friend’s Tweet to her Instagram Stories and shared the comment, ‘end lockdown’ below.

Shortly after his post, Buckley received furious reactions from angry readers and health experts.

‘Spreading in the air. It spreads faster than a locker room rumor, Nathan, and does a comparable amount of damage if you try to maintain teamwork,” noted emergency physician and former Australian Medical Association vice president Stephen Parnis.

Other fans suggested Buckley keep his comments to himself.

“Unless you can prove your credentials as an epidemiologist, please keep this kind of misinformation to yourself,” one person wrote.

Buckley noted the outrage and backtracked on his comments when he admitted he supported the current lockdown

“Strongly agree on these short sharp hard lockdowns,” he wrote.

“They seem to be quite effective. However, I wonder what the long-term solution is.’

He also had a farewell message to his critics.

“A series of assumptions and inferences returned from one observation…that’s your prerogative,” Buckley later tweeted.

‘With some well-informed logical perspectives as well. Clearly a much-discussed topic with a lot of associated emotional triggering.’

‘Be kind to eachother.’

Some fans jumped in Buckley’s defense.

“To be honest, he’s just asking a question. If half the people here could give an informed answer instead of just hating, we’d get to a point where we don’t lock up every time we get a case,” commented one man.

Buckley was recently ousted as Collingwood coach halfway through his 10th AFL season at the helm, paying the price for a 3-9 start to the 2021 season that cost the Magpies a chance to reach the finals.

He announced his divorce from his wife, Tania Minnici, 18 years old last December and made headlines in May when he was first photographed with his new girlfriend Alex.
