Alec Baldwin allegedly called a waitress a ‘peasant’ as she walked away from him after an altercation at Thursday night’s PEN America Literary Gala in New York City.
Last week, Page Six reported that the actor, 65, who made his red carpet return after all charges were dropped for accidentally shooting and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust – became frustrated when server started delivering food to a table while he was standing and chatting.
Now the waitress has made new allegations to the publication on the actor’s conduct during the night – claiming he was ‘condescending’ and ‘very restless’ as she attempted to do her job.
She said: “I’m a leader, which means I basically tell the waiters when to set the plates down and we have to do it in a certain order.
“I was going to feed the table manager but that’s who he was talking to so I walk up to him and say, ‘I’m sorry sir, but we’re going to have waiters going through the tables here at a minute. .”‘

She claims that Baldwin “asked condescendingly”: “So when’s a good time to talk to my friends?” – a reaction she “didn’t expect” and says he got “very agitated” before saying, “Do I have to explain it to you?”
She said she didn’t want the situation to escalate, so she simply replied that he didn’t need to explain it – to which she claims he replied: ‘Well, then push it away. YOU.”
The waiter added, “Afterwards, a lot of my colleagues came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what he said while you were walking away? I did not understand because I was focused on my work but apparently he called me a peasant [and] was clearly angry that I kindly said to him, “Excuse me.” ‘
Calling the star “bitter”, she said other stars, including Colin Jost, were polite to her.
She added that she wasn’t afraid of getting in trouble because of the incident, saying, “What could he say?” I kindly approached him, I was basically doing my job.

It comes after a source told the publication last week that Baldwin allegedly ‘yelled’ at the female server – leaving her ‘shocked and upset’, reported page 6.

A source told the publication that the incident unfolded when Baldwin got up to chat with someone “a few minutes before the line of waiters arrived at the same time delivering the meals.”
The waiter, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was reportedly cornered behind the actor as he chatted, with the source saying: ‘Then when she was able to pass she started putting plates on the table.” I guess he didn’t like her doing that with him standing there.
The actor then reportedly began “scolding her” with the waiter “visibly upset” overhearing someone say, “I don’t know why he yelled at me.”
The source that they guessed Baldwin ‘felt the waiter was rude’ to start putting down plates as he stood, adding that his wife Hilaria was not present for the alleged incident and that the timing “has gone unnoticed for the most part”.
On Monday, Alec finally ditched his beard as he celebrated his last day of filming Rust – three weeks after all charges against him in the Hutchins fatal shooting were dropped.
Baldwin shared a photo taken with Rust co-star Patrick Scott McDermott, writing, “Last day on set of RUST with this guy. Very talented actor and lovely young man with a bright future ahead of him. My love for you, @patrickscottmcdermott.’
McDermott returned the love, commenting “I love you Alec” before posting a photo of the two kissing on set with the caption: “Alec’s last day [heart emoji] I’ll miss you.’
Production came to an abrupt halt in October 2021 when Baldwin fired a live bullet from a prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust in New Mexico.
The Beetlejuice star was charged in January with two counts of manslaughter in connection with the death of Hutchins and the wounding of “Rust” director Joel Souza, who was hit by the same bullet that passed through Hutchins.
The case against Baldwin quickly unraveled. A weapons charge that would have meant a much longer sentence was dismissed and the first special prosecutor named in the case resigned.

This despite a damning FBI report that concluded Baldwin pulled the trigger on the gun that killed Hutchins – despite repeatedly saying he didn’t.
The report could still lead to criminal charges against the actor and others involved in the accidental shooting, with Santa Fe cops still investigating Hutchins’ death.
After the charges against him were dropped, Baldwin took to Instagram to thank his wife Hilaria for helping him through the controversy.
