A $3 bag of Aldi’s instant mashed potatoes has been called a game-changer by shoppers who say the quick dinner option tastes “just like the real thing.”
The one kilo bags of instant puree can be found in the freezer of the supermarket for a limited time.
Some buyers have gone so far as to describe the Season’s Pride potato as the best the German retailer has ever stocked.

“I use them to make cottage pie, they save a tremendous amount of time and don’t taste artificial at all,” one time-conscious home cook said on a Facebook post about the potatoes.
Others described the mashed potatoes as “next level amazing” and “an absolute topper” at dinner.
One woman said she just adds butter to the frozen mash and is always happy with the results.
“Sounds like all Aldi fans have kept this a secret,” one shopper joked, urging everyone on the popular Facebook page to add a bag to their basket the next time they went to the store.
Others raved about the price, impressed by the direct cost of just $3 a kilo.
Aldi also stocks other branded potato products, including hash browns and fries.

The mother said it was “a little dry” for her palate, but others said adding some cream or extra cheese “solves everything.”
Others said they mixed the potato bin with the retailer’s broccoli bin to make it more interesting.
