Watch the cheeky moment Aldi thieves make off with hundreds of dollars worth of computer equipment after slipping through the supermarket gates.
- Two Aldi computer monitors stolen
- The thieves have evaded the police for three months.
Police are chasing two Aldi shoppers after they were caught on security cameras sneaking boxes of computer equipment through the front entrance.
Victoria Police released images of the Bundoora Aldi, in north-east Melbourne, on Monday after their investigation into the alleged New Year’s Day robbery hit a wall.
Police allege that the men entered the grocery store on January 1 before walking down the Special Purchases aisle where various computer equipment was located.
In the footage, the men took the two computers, worth $650 each, and began slowly walking toward the store’s front entrance, where transparent front doors blocked their exit.
However, the two men, both wearing baseball caps, had a plan to bypass the gates.
Victoria Police asked the public for help in identifying and locating the men.
The first man, dressed in a white T-shirt and gray shorts, swiped the first monitor before the second appeared shortly after.
They both slid their loot toward the exit in full view of anyone near the front of the store.
After successfully sliding them under the doors, the couple nonchalantly walked through the store before going through the checkouts, casually picking up the goods on the other side and heading out the doors.
Victoria Police issued an urgent appeal on Monday, asking the public for help in identifying and locating the men.
Police released the video and images of the men in the hope that someone would recognize them.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
