Aldi joins Lidl and Asda in removing limits on the amount of fresh produce customers can buy as the supply problems that led to the shortages begin to ease.
Yesterday, Aldi said: “From Monday, Aldi will remove all purchase restrictions on fresh produce, including tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.”
Lidl also plans to lift all fruit and vegetable limits for tomorrow.
Asda removed most of the limits, leaving restrictions on tomatoes and peppers, saying overall availability has improved as expected.
The shortage began about three weeks ago, with retailers blaming bad weather in Morocco and Spain and related transportation problems.
