Aldi Australia’s best new products of 2024 have been named ahead of the annual People’s Picks awards, and they’re all about budget-friendly dinners and healthy desserts.
Named in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category, Popular Buys highlights the budget supermarket’s latest additions.
As Australians continue to struggle with the cost of living crisis, households have come up with creative and cost-effective ways to feed their families.
Australian shoppers can’t get enough of ready-made meals on the go: a butter chicken meal kit ($3.99), thin crust pizza with Angus beef ($5.99) and fish fillets ($6.99) top the list.
Aldi’s meal kits have already flown off the shelves after each restock, and the Chicken Pad Thai has even amassed a cult following online.
Other popular new items include canned beans ($1.19), sugar-free passion fruit energy drinks ($3.99), beef bone broth ($4.99), chicken bone broth ($4.99) and olive oil and truffle fries ($3.49).
Desserts are also customer favorites, with thousands of people across the country buying Aldi’s new Honey Chocolate Yogurt Treat ($2.69) and Cookies and Yogurt Cream ($2.69).
Low prices are keeping shoppers coming back to the supermarket chain, with prices starting at just 69 cents for a packet of yoghurt.

Customers can vote for their favourite Aldi products until 21 August, choosing from a list of 80 products spread across eight categories.
Aldi Australia shopping expert Kylie Warnke said the shortlist was a great way for shoppers to make the most of their shopping experience.
‘We love seeing classic items like the Greek Spinach and Cheese Spanakopita and Best Margherita Pizza Ever return as finalists year after year, as well as encouraging new products making their debut, such as Kapiti Passionfruit and Kamahi Honey Ice Cream and Café Series Salt and Pepper Tempura Barramundi.’
