Aldi Australia launches online sales strategy: “It will make no concessions”

An Aldi Australia spokesperson told FEMAIL that the supermarket is prioritising other services before launching online delivery for now.

Aldi Australia has once again denied rumours that it plans to offer online shopping.

For years, customers have wondered whether the discount supermarket will launch the service to compete with other retailers.

But an Aldi Australia spokesperson told FEMAIL the company is prioritising other services for now.

“While we always look for the best ways to serve our customers, right now we are focused on providing value and the lowest possible prices at a time when our customers need it most,” the spokesperson said.

“We will not compromise our ability to deliver affordable food to Australians.”

For now, customers can still keep up to date with Aldi’s special offers and promotions on the website, but the online delivery service remains unavailable.

Earlier this year, Aldi began offering a new service to Australian customers amid the cost of living crisis – and it has nothing to do with the supermarket.

The supermarket giant has launched Aldi Insurance, offering home and contents insurance policies, comprehensive car and homeowners insurance.

An Aldi Australia spokesperson told FEMAIL that the supermarket is prioritising other services before launching online delivery for now.

Customers will be able to get a quote for a policy in three minutes without any “confusing jargon.”

Many Australians have been sharing how they are cutting costs, with many saying that switching insurance policies and shopping around for cheaper rates has saved them thousands of dollars.

“Compare all your bills: electricity, insurance, internet, phone, etc. I just got a quote for my car insurance for $650, which is half of what I’m currently paying,” one super saver recently said.

Aldi Insurance says its prices will be competitive for both new and existing policyholders.

Those who opt for Home and Contents Insurance will also receive smart sensors which are said to reduce premiums and keep their homes safer.
