Albany WA Shark Attack: Monster 20ft Shark Takes A Chunk Out Of A Woman’s Surf Ski

A monstrous twenty-foot shark rips a piece off a woman’s surf ski before tossing her into the water in a terrifying beach incident

A woman narrowly escaped after a monstrous twenty-foot shark bit into her surf ski and tossed her into the water.

The woman was attacked by the predator at Cheynes Beach in Albany, Western Australia, just before 8am on Thursday.

Despite the terrifying attack just 100 meters from the shore, the woman was miraculously unharmed.

Authorities are now analyzing DNA from the woman’s ski to try to determine what type of shark carried out the attack.

A shark alert has been put in place for the area and the beach will remain closed for at least 24 hours.

Officials confirmed that a 5- to 6-meter shark was involved in the attack.

“This has been confirmed by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development,” Fisheries said in a statement.

The incident occurred approximately 100 meters offshore, in waters close to the Cheynes Beach caravan park.

“To reduce the threat to people, City of Albany Rangers will close Cheynes Beach and remain closed for 24 hours, when the City of Albany will reassess the situation.”

The attack occurs a few weeks later. Stella Berry, 16, was mauled to death by a shark in the Swan River north of Fremantle.

Stella was with some friends on the banks of the Swan River when she saw a pod of dolphins and jumped into the water around 3:30 p.m.

Moments later, bystanders heard a scream as a shark clung to his leg.

Stella was pulled from the river with serious injuries and died at the scene, despite the frantic efforts of witnesses and paramedics.
