Basketball Bundesliga club Alba Berlin won its catch-up game from the 12th matchday at the Niners Chemnitz with 76:70 (47:42).
Coach Israel Gonzalez’s team defended their lead in the table with their eighth league win in a row. The best Berlin throwers were Louis Olinde with 17 and Jonas Mattisseck with 14 points.
The Berliners started with numerous ball losses against aggressively defending Chemnitz and fell 9:21 behind. However, an 8:0 run to 20:23 at the end of the first quarter brought Alba into play.
The Berliners had now turned the game around and found their rhythm more and more. In the final quarter, Berlin had problems scoring, and Chemnitz were able to reduce to four points with 20 seconds to go.
