The PlayStation Showcase recently brought the first look at the gameplay inside Alan Wake 2, and it’s clear Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming project made a strong impression. After this demo, the developer also revealed a lot of details in the FAQ on the official website.
One thing that catches the eye in particular is that Alan Wake 2 will be a digital-only release, with developer Remedy saying they have no intention of releasing physical copies of the game. Play digitally only.
The developer also says that launching “Alan Wake 2” as a digital-only game will allow the developer to sell it at $60 on current generation platforms, while on PC, it will be $50, but this price is for the regular version only. There is also a Deluxe Edition, worth $80 on console and $70 on PC, which will include additional content as well as cosmetic items.
Remedy also says that it doesn’t want to release a physical version of the game that requires the player to download at the end, because that wouldn’t provide a great experience. Yesterday, the studio also provided new details about the upcoming game’s story and playable heroes. You can take a look at more details here.
Alan Wake 2 will launch on October 17th for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC.
