A pedestrian who tried to reserve a parking space for a friend by stopping in an empty space in an alleyway in Melbourne (pictured) sparked a confrontation with another motorist.

Wild footage captured the moment a driver collided with another person who tried to reserve a parking space for their friend by stopping in the empty spot.

The heated exchange between the pair took place inside an alley in Melbourne at 10.20am on April 7.

Daschcam footage showed the driver as he began to enter the empty space before being confronted by the man who stood in his way.

“I’m going to park here,” the driver told the man.

A pedestrian who tried to reserve a parking space for a friend by stopping in an empty space in an alleyway in Melbourne (pictured) sparked a confrontation with another motorist.

The man, wearing a black water jacket and matching shorts, responded bluntly, “Someone’s coming.”

‘Where is the car’? the driver asked.

The man informed the driver that his friend was “coming back to reality” and the response prompted an angry response from the driver.

The motorist ordered the man to exit the space before beginning to slowly move his vehicle toward the location.

“I’ve got this all on tape, man,” he said.

The man refused to leave the place and repeated that his friend would come soon.

“I’m not moving anywhere if you don’t leave,” the driver said.

The man still refused to give in when the driver’s patience began to quickly wear thin and he demanded to know where the other car was.

Finally, the confrontation came to an end when the man was forced to make way for the driver to use the space.

“You can’t do this right,” the driver said.

Footage of the incident was later uploaded to Facebook, where social media users criticized the man who was trying to reserve the parking spot.

The outraged driver argued with the man (pictured) and demanded to know where the other car was, before the pedestrian was forced to give up the empty space.

“Just drove into space like they weren’t there,” one wrote.

“Well done to the driver for pushing, on principle,” another added.

‘The pedestrian is totally wrong.’

Others chimed in and said the driver would have been better off finding another place to park.

Some argued that his vehicle could have been damaged later because it occupied the space.

“I would have done something to the car if I got that spot that wasn’t worth it,” one wrote.

‘Why bother. As soon as you park there, it will scratch your car or lower your tires,” argued another.
