Amazon Prime broadcaster Al Michaels has reassured die-hard NFL fans that coverage of Taylor Swift will be kept to a minimum when Travis Kelce and the Chiefs face the Broncos tonight.
The NFL came under heavy criticism from supporters for its excessive coverage of Swift during Kansas City’s win at the New York Jets earlier this month, after broadcasters NBC regularly targeted the pop sensation in the stands of MetLife Stadium.
Even Kelce, the Chiefs star she was dating for the past month, admitted there was too much focus on his new love interest during games. “They’re definitely overdoing it a little bit,” he said on his New Heights podcast.
After missing Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings, Swift heads back to Arrowhead tonight to watch Kelce take on the Broncos, with her new boyfriend expected to play despite being listed as doubtful due to an ankle problem.

Prime broadcaster Al Michaels has reassured die-hard fans that they won’t make things ‘farcical’

Swift heads to Kansas City for her NFL star Travis Kelce’s final appearance for the Chiefs
And fortunately for fans focused solely on the on-field action, Michaels insists Swift won’t be on television “all night.”
“What we’re going to do tonight, everything in moderation,” Prime’s play-by-play man said Sports illustrated ahead of the game.
“Our crew talked about it this morning. You can’t make the show an afterthought. The vast majority of the audience watches a football match.
‘There are people, I don’t know how many, it could be quite a few, but it’s certainly not a majority, that if you pointed the camera at her all night, they would be satisfied with that. This is not what we do.
“Maybe there’s a fitting shot or a few. I don’t know what song it’s going to be. If Kelce scores six touchdowns, who knows what we’ll do?
‘But for the most part just in moderation. The game is still by far the most important element here. That’s our thought.
“Then you kind of make it, one of my favorite words, farcical.”
Swift has created a frenzy since cheering on Kelce from the stands during the Chiefs’ win over the Chicago Bears in Kansas City last month.

Her latest appearance in New Jersey is said to have led to a staggering 53 percent increase in the number of teenage girls between the ages of 12 and 17 watching NBC’s edition of Sunday Night Football.
Kelce is expected to be fit for the Chiefs’ Thursday night football game, but he will play with a heavily taped ankle.
The Chiefs tight end appeared questionable for tonight’s game after suffering a sprained ankle against the Vikings last week.
He missed practice earlier this week, but according to ESPNKelce has won his race to be fit in time to play.
