A’ja Wilson had nothing but praise for her teammate, Kahleah Copper, when she offered a succinct, expletive-filled review of her performance at the Paris Olympics.
After the U.S. women’s basketball team took home its eighth consecutive gold medal, an NBC reporter asked the WNBA superstar to describe Copper.
“That bitch,” he quickly responded during the live broadcast, before the network could silence the curse.
Wilson then looked directly into the camera before walking away.
“I laughed so hard watching TV,” wrote one fan on X.
A’ja Wilson gave a hilarious, expletive-filled critique of her teammate’s performance on live television.
“That bitch,” she said succinctly, when asked to describe Team USA star Kahleah Copper.
‘You’re not wrong!’ another chimed in.
A third added: “For me, it’s all about looking at the camera. BUT SHE DOESN’T LIE.”
The 28-year-old, who celebrated her birthday earlier this week, scored 21 points during the United States’ 67-66 win over France on Saturday.
Copper, meanwhile, finished with 12 points, including two crucial free throws with 3.9 seconds left in the game.
Their victory came less than 24 hours after the U.S. men’s team also beat France in the title match. This was the first time in Olympic history that both gold medal matches featured the same two teams.
Unlike the men’s game, however, this one was decided in the final minute with a late shot by France that went just inside the three-point line.
United States maintains dominance over Olympic basketball after women’s team wins
No team has ever won eight consecutive Olympic events, marking a historic milestone for the women’s team.
LeBron attended the women’s finals with his wife Savannah and nine-year-old daughter Zhuri Nova, while teammates Bam Adebayo and Derrick White sat alongside them.
The family of the late Kobe Bryant also attended the game and celebrated the win with Sabrina Ionescu, who was mentored by the Lakers legend.
His widow Vanessa and daughters Natalia, Capri and Bianka were all smiles as they exchanged hugs after the guard claimed gold in her first Olympic campaign.
Ionescu worked closely with Kobe to develop as a player as their mentor-mentee relationship grew during their college years.
After the five-time NBA champion died in 2020, Ionescu maintained contact with Bryant’s family as his professional and international career took off.
That same year, Ionescu was selected first overall by the New York Liberty.
LeBron James looked on with his own gold medal after the men’s victory on Saturday.
Kobe Bryant’s family also sat courtside during the game and hugged Sabrina Ionescu.
