AJ Odudu joined Jourdan Dunn, Poppy Delevingne and Emma Weymouth at the premiere of Disney’s In Vogue: The 90s on Monday.

The new documentary, which began airing last week and is set during London Fashion Week, looks at the industry throughout the decade.

TV presenter AJ, 36, looked incredible in a daring pale yellow dress with a plunging neckline.

She paired the semi-sheer number with a pair of red PVC gloves and slicked her hair into a wet-look style.

The documentary speaks to former Vogue editors including Edward Enninful and celebrities including supermodel Naomi Campbell, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker.

It also examines the rise of Kate Moss, explaining how she revolutionised the modelling scene in the early 1990s with her ‘heroin chic’ aesthetic, much to the chagrin of other models.

The 50-year-old model from Croydon, who became one of the leading models of her generation, initially received criticism from other top models, who feared her meteoric rise to fame was hampering their opportunities.

Speaking in the new Disney+ documentary, supermodel Tyra Banks explained: ‘They weren’t booking us anymore.

‘I remember being backstage at a fashion show in New York City and all the supermodels were like, ‘Oh my God, Calvin (Klein) didn’t hire any of us, Calvin didn’t hire any of us,’ I remember the panic on all those supermodels’ faces.’

Famous models directed their anger at the new girl on the scene, and designer John Galliano also pointed out that Kate was at the centre of a blame game.

Kate said: ‘I’m not going to mention names. There was definitely a bit of ‘she’s here, what’s going to happen to us?’, they knew that.

‘My first season at the shows I was a bit intimidated, they looked like giants and I was skinny and quite shy. But then Christy (Turlington) and Naomi (Campbell) took me under their wing.’

Though she didn’t mention Kate directly, Linda Evangelista chimed in on the conversation during a behind-the-scenes clip from the ’90s.

She said, ‘You have a hockey team, you don’t just retire the whole team at once, you bring in the rookies one at a time, I mean it’s really nice to see these new girls.’

Despite the sentiments of other models, Kate’s look was initially rejected by industry figures, who were unsure whether she could compete with models such as Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington, who were known for their curvier, taller physiques.

Kate told a new Disney+ documentary: “Parents would come up to me and say, ‘My daughter is anorexic.’ It was horrible.”

“I think it was because I was skinny and people weren’t used to seeing skinny people. But if I had been more voluptuous, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. It’s just that my body shape was different from the models who came before me.”

The look became popular after the 19-year-old posed in lingerie for the June 1993 issue of Vogue.
