AJ Odudu has revealed she suffered “years of trauma” after finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman.
“I want it from her, actually, because strangely, at that moment, I trusted her more than I trusted him.”
“So, I asked him to put his clothes back on and follow me outside and answer all my questions, how long it had been going on and whatever.
“And then as soon as that happened, I saw her leave and then I packed up all my stuff, took a taxi and left.”
AJ then shared that he had to deal with “years of trauma” in the time that followed because the incident was so “unexpected” in the first place.
She said: ‘However, I spent years of tears and years of trauma away from him.
“It was as if this person had made it known that he loves me, that he sees his future with me and it was completely reciprocated.
‘In my opinion, we were building a positive future together. He was just someone you would never expect to behave that way.
It comes after Blackburn native AJ revealed her “confidence took a hit” when she began her TV career when she was told to “take elocution lessons” because of her northern accent.
The Celebrity Big Brother presenter admitted she originally refused to cry over the shocking betrayal but struggled to cope with the aftermath because it was so “unexpected”.
She admitted that it was “disheartening” to be told to change who she was early in her career as she wanted to make it in the industry.
speaking to radio timessaid: ‘I was encouraged to take elocution lessons early in my career and I’m so glad I turned them down.
“It was discouraging because it wasn’t booked or busy. I work in an industry where you would do anything to get your voice heard and get out there, but I knew that if I wanted my voice to be heard, it would have to be with my accent.’
“When you’re encouraged to change who I was, when people question your accent or your mannerisms, it affects your confidence because you question yourself and how you present yourself.”
AJ presented Big Brother’s Big On The Side in 2013 and was left traumatized at the time after being branded a “black girl with a dodgy accent” by online bullies.
She said she was “very excited” about the concert but “wasn’t asked to come back” for the series the following year, which also left her “very upset.”
Despite the setback, AJ said it taught her to “have a lot of grace in the face of defeat” and forced her to step out of her comfort zone to advance her career.

He said being on Strictly in 2021 was a dream come true after he had to save up for the train to get to London for auditions and had to search for auditions on a library computer.
