Australian travelers can now fly direct to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, with airfares starting at $199 for a limited time.
VietJet’s inaugural flight to Melbourne Airport landed on Tuesday and a flight between Sydney and Hanoi will launch on June 8.
The airline offers two round trips to the Southeast Asia destination every Tuesday and Saturday.
Until June 10, travelers can get affordable economy tickets starting at $199, which include 20kg of checked luggage and an onboard meal.

Melbourne Airport’s head of aviation, Jim Parashos, said the growth of the Vietnamese market had been one of the positive aspects of the pandemic.
“Increased capacity in the market offers benefits to passengers in the form of cheaper fares, but also provides exporters with access to high-value markets,” he said.
