If you find yourself complaining about the weather more than you used to, or falling asleep in front of the TV, this could be a warning sign: that you’ve become your parent.
According to a third of people, these are the most important indicators that you have become a mother or father, a poll shows.
And it said that the average age at which we start behaving like our parents is 43, with women starting to show their behavior a little earlier, on average at age 42, while men don’t become their parents until age 45.
Other key ways we become like them include dressing comfortably (according to 31 percent of respondents), liking to be in bed before 10 p.m. (27 percent), and feeling guilty for sleeping in on the weekend ( 15 percent).
Listening habits also mirror those of our parents, with not recognizing new music on the charts (21 percent) and switching radio stations to something ‘quieter’ (14 percent) making up the list of indicators.
Meanwhile, 61 percent admit to buying the same things as their parents, from furniture to fashion accessories.
So it’s no wonder that 94 percent of Brits believe that certain family traits are genetic and passed down from generation to generation.
