Football legend Tom Brady wasn’t the only star to turn heads after his mortifying TV roast, which aired live on Netflix on Monday.
In addition to watching Brady squirm, audiences were also captivated by the face of Ben Affleck, who modeled a new clean-shaven look.
Rumors quickly emerged online that the 51-year-old actor had undergone a facelift due to his age-defying, wrinkle-free skin.
“Ben Affleck is on stage fresh off a facelift,” one X user wrote, while another commented, “Ben Affleck’s facelift looks crazy.”
But what do the experts say? Now, speaking to DailyMail.com, plastic surgeons have given their verdict and concluded that Affleck’s face is not entirely natural.
Ben Affleck (pictured last week, left, and in 2021) has likely received Botox and fillers, according to a plastic surgeon. Dr. Raja Mohan pointed to the softening of his forehead lines and the disappearance of crow’s feet to suggest the change.
However, rumors about a facelift are probably unfounded.
Dr Raja Mohan, a plastic surgeon from Texas, told DailyMail.com: “In my opinion, it looks like she has undergone Botox and filler treatment to rejuvenate and make her face look younger. (But) it doesn’t look that has had a facelift.
‘In the previous photos, she has forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet… which are not seen at all in her last appearance, the areas look very shiny and smooth, which probably means she has had Botox.
“And then in the jaw and cheek area, you don’t see that loss of volume like in the previous photos, so I probably had some filler there.”
He added: “I don’t think they gave him a facelift because the change in his appearance is not as dramatic as you would expect with that type of procedure.”
Affleck appeared clean-shaven before his appearance in The Accountant 2, and fans assumed his new fuzz-free look helps his role.
But even with the beard, the images show very few signs of aging on Affleck’s face since 2016.
Plastic surgeons noted that these photos of Ben Affleck (from July 2022, left, and March 2016) highlight fine lines and lack of volume in the mid-face compared to recent images.
Surgeons also pointed to this image of Affleck from 2016. In July last year, it was reported that he had undergone Botox, according to sources after deciding he “hated how old and tired he was starting to look.”
The star’s sources suggested exclusively to DailyMail.com last night that Affleck had received Botox but was avoiding fillers.
“Ben looks great,” the source said, “he’s had Botox; everyone gets it before events.” He has not received filler and definitely has not undergone surgery.”
In July last year, it was suggested that Affleck had undergone Botox after his “image-conscious” wife, Jennifer Lopez, 54, urged him to “buff up his appearance.”
Botox lasts an average of three to six months.
