Devastated friends and family paid tribute to AFL wife Anna Green, who died on Monday.
The 40-year-old wife of former Melbourne Demons star Brad Green suffered a heart attack last week after complications from eye surgery three weeks ago.
She died peacefully surrounded by her husband and their two young sons at the hospital in Melbourne.

A family statement read: & # 39; With the heaviest hearts we confirm the death of a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend Anna Green.
& # 39; Anna had a cardiac arrest last week and died peacefully yesterday during lunch, surrounded by her immediate family.
& # 39; The family wants to thank the committed medical team in the intensive care unit at Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and is now asking for privacy if they can cope with their loss. & # 39;
The couple grew up together in Tasmania, but did not begin dating until 2002 when they rejoined in a chance meeting and were caught up during dinner.
They married on December 28, 2013, the year after Green withdrew from the AFL, but the small forward said he had had a rest six years earlier.
