AFL star Zaine Cordy married her long-time partner and “best friend” Georgia Ringersma in a stunning rural ceremony in Willaura, Victoria.

The couple exchanged vows over the weekend and days later took to social media to share a collection of heartwarming photos from their special day.

Georgia looked the radiant bride in a strapless white dress that featured a flowing train, while Cordy donned a classic black suit and tie.

The couple captioned their post: ‘10.12.24 I married my best friend’, with two white love hearts to mark the occasion.

They exchanged vows in front of their loved ones and shared photos of them looking as in love as ever while seated at the head table during the outdoor reception.

The couple, who announced their engagement in Daylesford last April, received an outpouring of well wishes on social media from other AFL stars and friends.

Bailey Smith, Josh Battle, Cooper Sharman and Chloe Geraerts, the partner of Collingwood player Pat Lipinski, took advantage of the comments to congratulate the couple.

Footballer Zaine made the big move to St Kilda last year and has so far made 22 appearances for the club.

He was originally selected by the Western Bulldogs as a father-son selection in 2014 and played 118 games for the club, including being part of the 2016 first team.

Now happily married, the defender will soon look to balance married life with his on-field commitments as the 2025 AFL season approaches.

Zaine made headlines in September 2022 when the AFL branded him “absolutely disgraceful” after he had to be carried into a car while in a state of disrepair during the club’s wild Mad Monday party.

He was photographed supported by fellow Dogs Tom Liberatore and Josh Dunkley in what Matthew Lloyd described as a “horrible look for any footballer in the league”.

“I hated this Mad Monday thing at the Western Bulldogs,” he told Nine’s Footy Classified at the time.

Would you ever see your captain in this state? Would you ever watch (Scott) Pendlebury, Lachie Neale and all the great players? (Christian) Petracca, (Clayton) Oliver?

“It’s disgraceful, absolutely disgraceful for a league footballer to be in that state, even in the end-of-season cups.”

The picturesque rural landscape added a touch of magic to the already beautiful celebration.

‘Be in control. Imagine you’re a young, first-year player looking at that who’s been in the system for almost 10 years.”

“The Bulldogs have had serious off-field discipline problems in recent years, and that still haunts them, haunts them, doesn’t it?” she said.

Also attending the Melbourne event were Bulldogs stars Bailey Smith, Marcus Bontempelli, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Josh Dunkley, Mitch Wallis, Louis Butler, Aaron ‘Astro’ Naughton, Arthur Jones, Anthony Scott and Tom Liberatore.

The party continued into the night with some players, including Bontempelli, eager to get on with it while Smith and a handful of other players stayed to play pool at the venue.
