Richmond Tigers leading AFL star Noah Balta has been charged over an off-season altercation that allegedly left a man with head lacerations.
Police were called to a sports club in Mulwala, near the Victoria-New South Wales border, shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning.
NSW Police confirmed Balta was subsequently charged with assault over an alleged incident after another man was hospitalized, according to Seven News’ chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary.
Balta turned himself in to police shortly before lunchtime on Tuesday.
He was released on bail to appear at Corowa Local Court on January 30.
