AFL great Wayne Carey defends ‘remarkable’ Nadia Bartel after she was infamously caught sniffing white powder from a $1.50 Kmart record
They both know a thing or two about white powder scandals.
And AFL villain Wayne Carey has now bravely come to the defense of embattled former WAG Nadia Bartel, who recently made her own snorting embarrassment clear in a telling interview with Stellar magazine.
Speaking on his podcast The truth hurtssaid the 51-year-old former Kangaroos captain said high-profile footy women like Nadia and Rebecca Judd — who aren’t involved in scandals — were “quite remarkable” for their strength under fire.
“(WAGs) get smitten by a lot of people… how about giving this woman (Nadia) the credit she deserves to build a career,” he said.
“Apparently broke up with Jimmy, was with him through the hard times, him as an AFL footballer. I know Nadia made some mistakes – but who hasn’t made mistakes – but the way she bounces back from those mistakes.”

Wayne said the success Nadia and Bec have had as self-made businesswomen and influencers’is quite remarkable’.
It comes just days after Nadia first spoke at length about a video of her sniffing white powder breaking Melbourne’s September 2021 lockdown.
In the video, the former WAG was filmed by business associate Ellie Pearson sniffing white powder from a $1.50 Kmart sign during an illegal gathering at a friend’s house.
Nadia, 37, told Stellar magazine on Sunday she is hurt by her actions “disappointed people whose opinion means everything to me.”
‘I made a big mistake. And I accept that. I just feel like there’s a real, ongoing pursuit – still. And that’s what feels very hurtful,” she said.

“I know Nadia made some mistakes, but who hasn’t made mistakes, but the way she recovers from those mistakes,” said Carey.
Henne’s creator said she initially wanted to share her story and “speak her truth,” but realized that people will always have their own opinion.
“I just want my actions to speak louder than any words,” she added.
“The reaction on social media was very negative towards me and it hurt a lot. What hurt more was the feeling that I had let down people I love and whose opinion means everything to me.’
In September 2021, Nadia’s business partner Ellie filmed her breaking lockdown rules and sniffing white powder at an illegal gathering.
Ellie accidentally uploaded the footage to her Instagram page, and a day later, Nadia broke her silence with a public apology.
It comes just days after Nadia first spoke at length about a video of her sniffing white powder breaking Melbourne’s September 2021 lockdown.
Carey was also recently at the center of a scandal of his own after being booted out of the Crown Casino in Perth last September after being caught with a ziplock bag of white powder.
The former North Melbourne player was escorted from the casino on September 1 after a bag fell out of his pocket while gambling.
After all, the zip-lock bag contained anti-inflammatory drugs he took to treat pain from his football career, Carey claimed.
Carey was reportedly slapped with a two-year ban from entering Crown’s premises, quit his Triple M radio show and was barred from attending Channel 7’s Brownlow Medal broadcast.
