The first bounce at the MCG has already occurred

No, not the big game: the Marsh AFL National Futures Boys match, which features Australia’s most talented under-17 footballers, with the two teams named after recently retired AFL stars Dyson Hepell and Rory Sloane.

Players will be eligible for the AFL draft next year, so it’s a great opportunity for fans to take a look at youngsters who could end up on their team’s roster.

Great news for Swans fans hours before kick-off as club breaks record

The Bloods have announced that they have surpassed 75,000 members for the first time, a big jump from last year’s mark of 65,332.

That’s because more than 500,000 fans passed through the gates of the SCG this season.

They have come a long way from where they were when they started playing in Sydney in 1982, when just 15,764 fans watched them win their first official home match in the port city.

Will Tina Arena be booed during her big finale performance?

Many Australians are hoping Sorrento singer Moon will feel the wrath of the crowd when she joins Katy Perry at the MCG later today.

There has been an online campaign encouraging fans to boo the 56-year-old, and their issues with her date back four years.

Why some fans think this simple photo shows who will win the flag

Here we see Lachie Neale and Dane Rampe putting the premiership trophy back into its holder after raising it for the fans in yesterday’s grand final parade.

An old superstition says that the team whose representative removes his hand from the cup first will lose the game, so… sorry, Swans fans.

Talk about enthusiastic!

Here’s the scene long before the members’ doors opened, just after 8 a.m. A long day for these punters, who perked up shortly after dawn.

And they go!

This is the moment when fans started arriving at the G just a few minutes ago. The AFL claims there is so much demand for tickets that the ground could sell out four times.
