Chris Judd is rumored to be eyeing a political career – a year after his wife Rebecca criticized Prime Minister Dan Andrews during the Covid lockdown in Melbourne

Retired AFL star Chris Judd is reportedly considering running for office in Victoria.

According to the Herald Sun, the 37-year-old former Carlton captain was spotted in Melbourne’s Parliament House earlier this week.

He had previously been seen with federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg at a football game.

These two sightings have led to speculation that he may be eyeing a political career.

It comes after Chris’ wife Rebecca made headlines last September when she criticized Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews for his lockdown laws.

Mr Andrews had announced at the time that Melbourne would remain on lockdown due to an increase in coronavirus cases.

Rebecca sneaked up to the Labor Prime Minister in a sponsored Instagram post for a cardboard company, writing: ‘@the_little_cardboard_co perfect for ISO and upcoming school holidays as it looks like Dictator Dan will be locking up Victorians in our homes even longer.’

The former Postcards host has been criticized for daring to speak her mind from her $7.3 million Brighton mansion, while other Melburnians fared much harder.

She later deleted the post after facing backlash from Mr Andrews’ supporters.

The former Nine weather host married AFL great Chris in a lavish New Year’s Eve ceremony in 2010.

The couple live in Brighton with their four children, son Oscar, nine, daughter Billie, six, and twin sons Tom and Darcy, four.
