Retired AFL star Dane Swan has been fired from Melbourne breakfast show Jase and PJ on KIIS FM.

The 36-year-old joined the radio program one day a week in January as a regular commentator.

However, the former Collingwood star revealed on his Hump ​​Day with Swanny & Friends podcast, he was recently told that the station no longer needed him.

“To be honest, I enjoyed the five minutes I was on the air with them, they were all very nice people, but at the end of this football season I would tell my manager’s manager I can’t go on Monday morning. ‘

Dane also claimed that “the juice wasn’t worth squeezing” because the breakfast radio “is ruining your weekend.”

KIIS FM recently announced that the show is heading in a new direction with new co-host Lauren Phillips.

Lauren replaces Polly ‘PJ’ Harding as co-host alongside Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins.

“Lauren was part of our KIIS Summer Breakfast Show and was an instant hit with listeners for her likeable nature and infectious laugh,” said ARN’s Chief Content Officer, Duncan Campbell.
