After leading the Hawks in turmoil for the better part of two quarters, James Sicily had enough of Bulldogs rival Aaron Naughton ripping off the full attacker’s headband during spirited scenes in Melbourne.
In a head-to-head clash between the two AFL squads vying for a place in the eighth spot, Luke Beveridge’s squad rose to a three-quarter lead of 41 points, with Naughton creating real problems for the Hawks backline.
And while Naughton booted another ball into the forward 50 for Sicily, the Hawthorn man had enough of his rival and yanked on his jersey as tempers flared at Marvel Stadium.
Tons of players from both sides piled up for a pushing match with Naughton’s jersey ripped amid the bust before Sicily tugged at the big man’s headband.
