Adrian Romeo, 43 (pictured) from Melbourne, was last seen at his home in Craigieburn at around 5.30pm on 10 February 2024.

Police believe a man who mysteriously disappeared without a trace five months ago may have been involved in a crime.

Adrian Romeo, 43, was last seen at his home in Dempster Drive, Craigieburn, in Melbourne’s north, at around 5.30pm on February 10.

She had told her parents that she was going to Greenvale to visit some friends.

Mr Romeo is believed to have left in his gold Camry to attend an address in the neighbouring suburb, where he spoke to several associates there.

But the 43-year-old has not been heard from since and his bank accounts remain untouched, leading detectives to suspect his disappearance is suspicious.

Mr Romeo’s phone has not been used since he disappeared, raising serious concerns that he may now be dead.

“Adrian’s disappearance is incredibly worrying to police, as well as his friends and family,” Detective Inspector Dean Thomas of Victoria’s Homicide Squad said on Sunday.

“We are very sure that Adrian’s disappearance is suspicious and I believe he is deceased.”

Mr. Romeo’s disappearance was reported to the police four days after his disappearance.

Police have since spoken to a number of Adrian’s friends and associates, but have made no significant progress in his whereabouts.

Extensive CCTV work was also carried out and police worked through hours of footage to try to trace his last known steps.

Mr Romeo left his home in a distinctive gold 2004 Toyota Camry sedan, which has not yet been located but may assist with the police investigation.

Detectives have released a photograph of the car as part of a renewed appeal to the public in the hope that someone may recognise it.

“There is a possibility it may have been abandoned somewhere, stolen or sold and we are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen the gold Toyota Camry,” Detective Inspector Thomas said.

“It is possible that he is lying on some street, so I urge people to be vigilant.”

Before his disappearance, Mr. Romeo was close to his friends and family.

It is considered out of place not to communicate with anyone.

“Adrian has a large number of friends, there is nothing in his history that links him to any organised crime, there is nothing to explain why he would have disappeared,” Detective Inspector Thomas said.

“We have had a number of people provide us with information at various times since February about Adrian’s disappearance, so we remain confident that there are people out there who know what has happened to him.”

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Romeo’s disappearance is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.

Romeo comes from a close-knit family and is close to his friends. The 43-year-old has no ties to organised crime.
