Despite months of rumors that Adele and Rich Paul were already married, it has been claimed that the couple have, in fact, just gotten engaged.
Reports emerged on Thursday that basketball agent Rich quietly popped the question last week during a trip to Tottenham, London, Sun claims.
The location was said to be no coincidence as Rich wanted to make his love known in Adele’s hometown, amid claims she is preparing to return to the UK.
Adele and Rich were rumoured to have tied the knot last year and reportedly confirmed the union at her best friend Alan Carr’s comedy show in Los Angeles, with two audience members confirming the news. Two of us.
On Saturday, it was reported that Rich is set to chronicle his life from “a difficult childhood to huge success” after landing a film deal on the back of his memoir, Lucky Me (pictured at the O2 Arena on July 20).
One onlooker explained: “I was at Alan Carr’s comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience. Alan asked the crowd if anyone had gotten married recently and Adele shouted ‘I have’.”
Another audience member added of the ‘small, intimate show’: ‘When he asked her if anyone had gotten married recently, she yelled ‘Yes, I got married. ‘ She was very tender and very sweet, but it broke down right before he finished. ‘
They added: ‘Adele was sitting behind me with a friend having a great time. Her security only came in to bring her snacks.
“She didn’t care if people knew she was there. It bothered her. They’re best friends.”
Rich then addressed the marriage rumors when he recounted how he and Adele “helped each other out” during their two-year relationship.
On CBS Mornings, Rich said of his partner: “It’s been great, I think she would agree that we definitely help each other out.”
“I’m in a good place, we’re in a good place. I’m happy. She’s great. She’s been great for me. We’ve been great for each other.”

CBS host Gayle King then asked Rich about rumors that he and Adele had gotten married.
The journalist asked him if he should refer to Adele as “Mrs. Paul” the next time he talks to her.
Richard played coy, saying: “You can say what you want,” before adding that he is not the type of person to “put his private life on the table. It’s not for the media.”
Adele called Rich her husband during her Las Vegas concert in September, sparking speculation that the two had tied the knot.
The couple first went public with their relationship in July 2021, when they were sitting courtside together at an NBA game.
The Grammy winner has been wearing a pear-shaped diamond ring on her left ring finger for about a year now.
In the past, when asked about it, she commented that it was not an engagement ring, she just likes high-end jewelry.
In his memoir, Lucky Me, Rich recalls growing up in Cleveland with a crack-addicted mother, dealing drugs and impregnating a girl at age 14.
And even now, the sports agent still flinches when he hears a loud noise because of the amount of gunshots he heard growing up on the streets.
“I never had the chance to be a child,” he writes in the book, which was published in October.
“Crack was so powerful that it decimated my mother’s love and accelerated my adolescence. I had to go from puppy to young wolf immediately.”
Paul grew up in the Glenville area of Cleveland’s East Side. His parents were not married and his father, Rich Paul Sr., was the steadying influence, as his mother, whom he calls “Peaches,” was a drug addict.
Despite splashing out on a lavish new mansion in the US, the singer is reportedly planning to return to the UK once her Las Vegas residency ends.
Adele bought Sylvester Stallone’s eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom home with a colossal $37.7 million mortgage, but it’s being completely rebuilt.
Before Rich became one of the most powerful sports agents representing NBA stars Anthony Davis (pictured) and LeBron James, he made his living selling drugs in Cleveland.
Paul, pictured with former and current clients Ben Simmons, Tristan Thompson, John Wall and LeBron James in 2018, is the founder of the Klutch Sports agency.
His father even once threatened to shoot him “like Marvin Gaye’s father did” if he continued to fail in school after his GPA dropped to 1.4.
Paul Sr. said, “If you keep this up, I’ll take you out of this world, man. I’ll tell you what’s gonna happen. And I’m not going to spend a day in jail for it. If you keep disrespecting me, I’ll show you what disrespect gets you. I’ll show you what disrespect is,” he revealed.
And the father’s threat worked, Paul says.
“That moment changed the trajectory of my life,” he writes.
His grade point average soon rose again and never again fell below 3.6.

Paul received another surprise at age 14 when a girl told him, in the middle of a basketball game, that he had gotten her friend pregnant.
As the girl was having her abortion, it made Paul reflect on what he learned about sex growing up.
He writes: ‘I learned many valuable things, but healthy sexual habits were not one of them.
“Almost everything my friends and I learned about sex was wrong. We believed that the more girls you had sex with, the more status you had… it was like a disease.
‘We would buy everything from them, give them five or six hundred dollars at a time. I spent so much at McDonald’s that they might have run out of Chicken McNuggets.
“All we were doing was creating a toxic dynamic that for some of us has lasted a lifetime: we viewed sex as something transactional or a way to show off our status, rather than an act based on love and commitment.”
Paul is now estimated to be worth $120 million and currently lives in a $58 million mega mansion in Beverly Hills with Adele, whom he began dating in 2021.
