A video uploaded to TikTok captured a koala's nocturnal visit to a couple's home in Rosslyn Park, in Adelaide's east.

A couple were shocked to find a surprise intruder waiting for them when they returned from work one night.

Brazilian couple Fran Dias Rufino and her partner Bruno discovered a koala in their room after midnight in Rosslyn Park, in Adelaide’s east.

In a video posted online, the koala can be seen making himself at home as he explores the couple’s bedroom and climbs into a drawer next to the bed.

“A normal day in Australia,” the TikTok video was captioned.

Ms. Rufino added: “Can I get my PR (permanent residence now)?”

The couple was surprised by the intruder and Bruno told the alphabet“Fran was screaming a lot and I was afraid it was a spider.”

“She said, ‘There’s a koala in my house!’ “I didn’t believe it at the time and then I went to see it.”

In the video, Mrs Rufino can be heard exclaiming: “I’m scared, I have a koala in my bed!”

A video uploaded to TikTok captured a koala’s nocturnal visit to a couple’s home in Rosslyn Park, in Adelaide’s east.

He told ABC the koala was “very comfortable” in the bed.

“I think he wants my bed for himself,” she said.

In the video, Bruno could be heard asking: ‘Oh my God! What should I do?’

Rufino said he believed the koala entered his house through the dog door, but his dog was not the least bit interested.

“He was sleeping… he was very lazy,” Mrs. Rufino said.

His partner managed to get the nocturnal visitor out of their home, but it took a little persuasion.

He locked the dog in the kitchen and then closed all the doors except the front door.

“But he (the koala) didn’t want to leave the house,” Bruno said.

“And then I had to scare him a little bit, and then I managed to grab my dog’s blanket and block him from coming back into the room.”

The couple eventually managed to escort the koala out of their home. The only damage caused was to Ms. Rufino's skin care products (file image)

Bruno finally guided the koala out of the house with the blanket.

The only damage the koala caused was to Mrs. Rufino’s cosmetics.

“I was telling Bruno after the video, ‘Oh my God, Bruno, he broke all my skincare,'” she said.

The couple were inundated with comments from TikTok viewers about their surprise intruder.

One asked for an update.

“He will leave safely, but he can return whenever he wants,” Rufino wrote.

Another viewer asked Rufino why he didn’t call a wildlife rescue service to remove the koala.

“I called them and the man told me, ‘ma’am, it’s too late,'” Mrs. Rufino wrote.
