A young addict whose mother begged him to return home to California is now sober and recently married.
Shane Smith was an addict on the streets of Venice Beach in 2022 when a video of him and his parents went viral.
The young man was seen on the beach yelling at his parents and walking away angrily while his mother sat somewhere defeated while her husband tried to comfort her.
A tough-looking Shane, with wild hair and baggy clothing, was caught on video having a heated argument with his parents while standing with his hands balled into fists while moving his arms erratically in the throes of addiction, newly recirculated video shows . .
His mother sat, defeated, on a lamp as she watched her young son walk away angrily as her husband said, “Come on, let’s go home.”

Shane recently got married, according to photos he posted on his Facebook account.
She could barely stand on her own as her husband lifted her up as she looked longingly at her son. However, the mother was not quite ready to give up on her son when he sat back down on the device.
And she didn’t give up.
Shane recently got married and this month marked two years of sobriety, according to his facebook page.
He posted photos from his wedding to his wife, Destiny, on January 20, and his second anniversary of sobriety passed earlier this month.
“Married to the love of my life,” he captioned the post.
In a video released – which was originally published In October 2023, a healthy Shane was days away from celebrating his first year of sobriety at The Last House, a sober living home.
“Hey guys, one year of sobriety coming up, my life has become very different and much better since that video went viral,” he said in an October 10, 2023 video posted by The Last House, where he received treatment.
He and his wife Destiny cut the cake at their wedding.
“I think I’m really blessed,” Shane said while sporting a much more visibly healthy appearance.
The sober living home, which has three locations in Los Angeles, shared a series of photos of the young man whose face was filled with light again and he looked happy.
On October 14, 2023, he celebrated his first year of sobriety, according to The Last House.
“This is a significant achievement and we couldn’t be prouder of it,” The Last House wrote in a mail.
