BREAKING NEWS: Brisbane Broncos nervously await Adam Reynolds fitness after rifle halfback leaves field on medicab after nasty head knock during Melbourne Storm clash
- Adam Reynolds suffered a nasty headbutt on Thursday
- The Broncos star attempted to ground the ball at AAMI Park
- He was sent for a category two HIA and hurt his neck
Brisbane Broncos let out a collective nervous breath after Adam Reynolds was forced off with a nasty headbutt in their Thursday night game against Melbourne Storm.
Reynolds tried to get the ball on the ground after Herbie Farnworth gave chase with Harry Grant, but the former Souths star failed to score a try midway through the first half at AAMI Park.
The bunker then ruled a penalty try after Grant shoved Farnworth in the back, but attention turned to Reynolds after his head hit the ground heavily as he tried to make contact with the ball.
Reynolds was taken off on the stretcher and taken away for a category two HIA. The Broncos have confirmed he struggled with a neck problem and lost feeling in his hands and feet.
It was later made official that while Reynolds suffered no serious neck injury, he would play no part in the rest of the match.
Thoughts with Adam Reynolds, left on an ambulance after a bad blow to the head here. Obvious concern for concussion but also removed in a neck brace/spine, hopefully just precautions. Fingers crossed for him pic.twitter.com/4EUkPng2c5
