Adam Levine returns to The Voice for the first time since leaving NBC’s long-running competition show in 2019.
The Maroon 5 frontman, 45, will serve as coach during season 27 in 2025, alongside John Legend, Michael Bublé and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini.
Levine, who left The Voice after 16 consecutive seasons in 2019, won the show three times during his time as the second-longest serving coach aside from Blake Shelton, who left the show last year.
The Payphone hitmaker won the show’s inaugural season in 2011, with Javier Colón, then again with Tessanne Chin in season five, and finally with Jordan Smith in season nine.
Meanwhile, Ballerini previously made her official coaching debut in 2021 while replacing Kelly Clarkson.

This fall, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani will be the coaches for season 26.
In 2019, Levine opened up about his decision to leave The Voice after nearly a decade on the competition television series.
‘I really miss him. I love the people I met and worked with and obviously we all know how I feel about Blake (Shelton),’ she said while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The father of three continued: “I miss it, but I also don’t miss how much I had to work.” I was working constantly for so many years. “I’m very lucky, very lucky and blessed and all that to be able to stop right now to spend time with my new, young family.”
“Now I’m like a housewife, I stay at home and do very little,” she reflected.
At the time, he reportedly gave up about $30 million to stay on the show.
Sources said The Hollywood Reporter that his contract was for two additional seasons for around $30 million, since he had earned around $14 million in his last season on the series.
Insiders told the publication that Levine had been “increasingly anxious” to leave the series in recent weeks, noting that The Voice’s filming schedule was grueling between filming and live shows.

The She Will Be Loved singer, 40, said in an Instagram post that his time on the show was “a life-changing experience that will be close to (his) heart forever” after his departure on Friday, adding that ‘it was time to move on.’
“About 8 years ago, Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair with your back to the singers on stage,” she wrote in the post.
Levine continued: ‘The first thanks must go to Mark. We had no idea what we were doing or where he was going. After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself, “There is some magic here. “Something is definitely happening.”
The three-time Grammy winner concluded: ‘Thank you NBC for signing me up. I feel truly honored to have been a part of something that I will always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to all the coaches I sat in those chairs with. That is a shared experience that is uniquely ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long, strange, surprising left turn into a place I never thought I’d go.’
