Joe Biden’s political operatives may be popping champagne at the White House over Donald Trump’s guilty verdict.
But they ought be deeply worried.
Trump’s historic conviction will only make it harder for Team Biden to win over Black voters, who are already abandoning the Democratic nomination in droves.
And without the overwhelming support of Black America, Biden’s campaign is ruined.
Ask any voter, regardless of race, exactly what Trump has been convicted of and you’ll likely get a blank stare in response.
This is because no one – much less a former president – has ever been prosecuted for this alleged crime.
And, more than most, black Americans know when something doesn’t smell legally rotten.
The vile legacy of slavery, the cruelty of Jim Crow, the horrors of the Tuskegee experiments, and the gross injustice of the 1994 federal crime bill that sparked a mass incarceration crisis, have imbued black culture with a deep skepticism towards the big State.
Black people – more imprisoned in the United States than any other race – do not escape the fact that the American legal system also seems to be to blame for Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Biden wants black people to believe he is their white savior fighting alleged systematic bias when his The justice system – in fact – seems to be part of the problem.
A New York Times/Sienna poll conducted in May found that 23 percent of blacks in the six key presidential states now say they lean toward Trump.
Only 9 percent of Black voters backed Trump in the 2020 election.
Perhaps equally surprising was the scene in the Bronx earlier this month when Trump appeared to campaign in the deep blue district and was greeted by hundreds of supporters.
His message then, as it has always been: If you love me, I love you. All Americans can get on the ‘Trump Train’.
Contrast that with Biden’s increasingly desperate outreach to the Black community, which consists of little more than race-baiting and fear-mongering.
“(Trump) is the same guy who wanted to tear gas you while you were peacefully protesting the murder of George Floyd,” he told a crowd this week at a boarding school for black students as young as 6.
He gave a similar speech (perhaps more age-appropriate but just as dastardly) to Morehouse College graduates earlier this month:
‘It’s natural to wonder if the democracy we hear about really works for you. What is democracy if they kill black men in the street? What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leaves Black communities behind?
Indeed, Mr. President.
But who exactly is responsible for this illusory “democracy” that you describe?
Donald Trump has not dedicated his life to politics. He has, and his record is spotty.
African Americans also won’t soon forget that Joe Biden has repeatedly lied about his role in the civil rights movement.

“When I marched in the civil rights movement…I marched with tens of thousands of people to change attitudes,” Biden said during his 1987 presidential campaign.
Months later he retracted those statements, dropped out of the race and admitted to having plagiarized the political speeches of others and embellishing his resume.
‘I was not an activist. “I worked at an all-black pool on the east side of Wilmington, Delaware,” Biden confessed. ‘I wasn’t out marching. I wasn’t in Selma or anywhere else.
Throughout his decades-long Senate career, Biden was friends with men who fought against desegregation, such as Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond and former Klan senator Robert Byrd.
Kamala Harris criticized him for it on the 2020 Democratic primary debate stage.
“You also worked with (former segregationist senators) to oppose busing,” Harris spat at Biden, referencing her opposition to federally mandated busing of minority students to high-performing schools.
Today, Harris stands alongside Biden as his vice president and joins him in calling Trump a bigot.
That’s all to say nothing of then-Senator Biden’s sponsorship of the infamous 1994 federal crime bill, which remains largely responsible for the mass incarceration crisis among black men in America.
As a former Democrat, I was blind to this reality for decades.
But what finally woke me up to the real Joe Biden was the moment he was confronted by Charlamagne tha God during the 2020 presidential campaign.

“I’ll tell you what,” he told Charlamagne, “if you have trouble determining whether you’re for me or Trump, then you’re not black!”
Biden was later forced to retract that statement and say, “I was too arrogant.” But his flippant comment will forever be etched in my memory.
The truth is that Biden has a long history of using race as a wedge to divide and manipulate Americans.

As they say, when someone shows you who they are, believe them.
Well, in my opinion, Biden has proven himself to be a condescending racist who only pretends to be a friend to black Americans when it comes time to vote.
None of this is to say that Trump is perfect. I don’t agree with all of his political positions. And he may not support it come November.
But I know one thing for sure: I will not pull the lever in favor of Biden.
I guess that means I’m not black.
Right, Joe?
