Photographer and director Robert Lang He released his first short film Return to the Pleasure Dome as an inspiration and homage to his 1954 classic Kenneth Anger’s The Opening of the Pleasure Dome and envisions his own version of the juvenile as a paraquel.
Synopsis for the short film, A contender for upcoming film festivals is “a high-octane dance to a bold rockabilly tune as it dances to a soft light against the backdrop of a tiki theme.”
An abnormal menacing force glares over the alopecia. She was aware that she was still dancing.
Madness ensues as the surreal and terrifying event unfolds, paving the way for the question of what is real and what is not. Who are you dancing for? Is it a dream or a hallucination? ”

As in most of Kenneth Anger’s films, interpretation is left to the viewer for the sake of art as Robert hopes to convey this to the audience.
They toil with the idea of the occult as that was a major theme from the original which featured ceremonial masks and psychedelic peppy creatures, as subliminal symbols appear and disappear.
Like laughing monsters from film that appear and disappear from view, the film takes center stage here in a nutshell.

Pleasure Dome Debuting is a 38-minute short film by Kenneth Anger in 1954. Anger created two more versions of this film in 1966 and the late 1970s. According to Anger, the film takes its name “The Pleasure Dome” from Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s atmospheric poem “Kubla Khan”. Anger was inspired to make the film after attending a Halloween party called “Come as Your Madness”.
The film reflects Anger’s deep interest in Thelema, the philosophy of Aleister Crowley and his followers, as evidenced by Cameron’s role as “The Scarlet Woman”.
