Actor Ray Buffer, known as “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” has admitted to stealing $854 worth of comic books from a San Diego store in an October robbery that was caught on tape.

Buffer, 55, appeared in court on Thursday, months after Southern California Comics released footage of him stuffing books under his shirt and walking out of the store.

The actor, who also appeared on the shows Gilmore Girls and CSI: Miami, was blasted by the store’s owners on social media over the incident.

According to the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, Buffer pleaded guilty to one count of petty theft.

He was ordered to pay the comic fee and one day in detention.

The theft occurred at the comic book store in San Diego on October 4, 2022.

Buffer originally pleaded not guilty in his early court appearance, but according to the New York Post, changed his plea on Thursday.

Video footage from the incident shows Buffer in a blue and white striped shirt hiding in the corner of the store.

The actor was then seen navigating stacks of comic books before slipping one under his shirt.

The store owner said the actor stole 10 comics worth $854.

The store uploaded the screenshots along with the caption, ‘If this guy looks familiar please give us a call. Thank you!’

In addition to taking one day off the hold and having to pay off the shopkeepers, Buffer will serve one year of probation.

Jimmy Newbold, owner of Southern California Comics, told The Post he was glad to see the case behind him.

“This guy stressed me out, he stressed my staff, we kept getting nervous,” Newbold said.

“Scared, looking at customers differently and wondering who’s going to hurt us next, now that pressure’s been taken off my shoulders because at least we’ve got a win and we know we can get justice even if we have to do it ourselves,” the owner told the outlet.

After the charges against Buffer were announced, A.JThe Post reported that another comic store claimed Buffer stole from them in September.

Buffer guest-starred in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2004 called “Ben’s Birthday Party,” according to IMDB page.

He played a “stage manager” and appeared in scenes with Ben Stiller

Buffer has also had other minor roles in individual episodes of “Cold Case” and “ER”.
