He said: ‘This appalling incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this heinous act is held accountable for his actions.”
Shehorn, a successful makeup artist, is still recovering from the attack in the hospital, but he is improving and has already been taken out of the ICU.

Donations for Shehorn have increased since news of the horrific attack broke and so far more than $112,000 has been raised for her care.
DailyMail.com previously revealed that Shehorn had suffered months of abuse at the hands of Pasqual and obtained a restraining order against her on May 18 after an incident in which he slammed her head into the floor and attempted to break down a door in her Sunland House.
On that occasion, according to the makeup artist, Pasqual got angry around 3 in the morning ‘and started yelling at me, which happens when he is under the influence of alcohol.’
She continued: “He slapped me and as I was trying to escape down the hall, he grabbed my hair, pulled me back and I crashed to the floor hitting the back of my head on the floor.”
Shehorn says he tried to hide in the bedroom of “surrogate mother” Christine White, 62, who shared the former couple’s home and was the one who found Shehorn “bleeding out” after the stabbing attack.
Pasqual then allegedly tried to break down the door and when she opened it, he pushed her against it, causing her to fall to the ground and hit her head again.
According to Shehorn, the incident left her with a concussion while Pasqual threatened White while she dialed 911.
Shehorn, 35, is known for her work on box office hits like Mean Girls and Rebel Moon.

Although Pasqual was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence according to LAPD booking records, he was able to get out of jail the same day, leaving him free to attack Shehorn again three days later.
According to Shehorn’s restraining order request, Pasqual also allegedly attacked her on other occasions: hitting her with a belt on Jan. 29, breaking down several doors in her home on March 6, and raping and strangling her on April 14.
Shehorn added: “He has been violent in the past, but never physically with me, except for two nights when he ripped my clothes off.”
In the request, the special effects makeup artist also asked for protection for White and also for Riley, the couple’s white husky mix dog.
A hearing on whether the temporary restraining order was permanent had been scheduled for June 11 in Pasadena, while Pasqual was scheduled to appear in court on a felony charge in San Fernando on June 12, dates he missed because he was locked up in Texas.
