According to Andy Ruiz’s former partner Julia Lemus, the boxer allegedly committed rape and abuse against her and even threatened her with an AK-47.

Date:

The ex-girlfriend of heavyweight award-winning fighter Andy Ruiz was granted a temporary restraining order against the boxer earlier this month after she alleged he raped, abused and terrorized her over the course of their relationship.

exclusively with TMZ SportsIt was revealed that Julia Lemos had filed a domestic violence restraining order in San Diego on April 6.

In the filings, she alleged Ruiz “sexually, physically, and psychologically abused me, making me feel like I had to walk on eggshells around him” during their relationship.

Lemos, 26, who was with the boxer from 2015-2022, alleged that Ruiz physically and emotionally abused their two children.

Ruiz denied the allegations and claimed he was a victim during the relationship after Lemos stabbed him with a knife.

According to the filings, Lemos also accused the boxer of using alcohol and illegal drugs, which she said caused “fear for my life, my safety, and the life and safety of my children.”

Lemos says the 33-year-old Ruiz started getting physical with her around the time he beat Anthony Joshua for the unified heavyweight title in 2019.

She documented multiple instances of alleged abuse in her injunction application, stating, “He started grabbing me by the arms and physically grabbing me in order to get me anywhere he wanted me to go.”

Lemos also alleged that Ruiz began punching her on the arms and legs “jokingly”, but left her covered in bruises. She provided photographic evidence of this in her files.

As documented earlier this year, the #5 heavyweight purchased multiple firearms in Las Vegas and wanted her to see them.

Lemus said she became uncomfortable with the amount of firearms around and that Ruiz “proceeded to point an AK-47 at me.” After telling Ruiz to stop, he told her to “shut the door”, before telling her the weapons were not loaded and calling it “dramatic”.

Then, around February 2023, Lemus claimed that Ruiz began sexually assaulting her, with the boxer forcing himself on her on at least six different occasions.

Shortly after the Lemos applied for the temporary restraining order, the court granted it — ordering Ruiz to stay 100 yards away from her, banning him from owning any firearms, and giving the Lemos sole legal and physical custody of their children.

A hearing on this matter is scheduled for next Monday.

Ruiz filed a legal response to the Lemos documents in court Thursday, saying: “He categorically denies that he has ever abused Julia Lemos or his children,” adding that “there is no just cause to separate Ruiz from his children.”

He also made allegations that Lemos was violent during their relationship. Ruiz claims she stabbed him with a knife in February 2020, and has provided photos of that as well.

Ruiz also said that in April 2020, Lemus entered my hotel room with a loaded gun in her hand, and yelled, “Everybody get out of here.”

Ruiz says Lemos proceeded to pistol-whack one of his friends in the head and proceeded to break the room’s furniture.

Ruiz also accused Lemos of slapping, punching and grabbing him “on multiple occasions” while the boxer said: “I never once participated in any physical reaction to Julia’s assault.”

Lemos was also accused of stealing $250,000 worth of jewelry from him last month, with Ruiz saying he filed a police report for the theft with the San Diego police.

Ruiz has not commented publicly on the matter.
