The victim of a horrific head-on crash involving a P-Plater has been identified as a single mother and working refugee who was heading home to pick up her son for school.
Zamira Hussainpoor, 35, died on Tuesday morning when a van veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with her Toyota hatchback in Hampton Park, southeast of Melbourne.
Hussainpoor, who died at the scene, was just minutes away from picking up his 13-year-old son Husnain after finishing a night shift at a factory where he worked.

The mother died when the SUV collided with her car Tuesday morning.
Hussainpoor’s brother-in-law Abdur-Rahman Butler said she emigrated to Australia in the early 2000s and has been raising her son alone since he was two years old.
“Despite countless setbacks and difficulties, including abandonment by her ex-husband, she triumphed,” he said.
‘She was loved by the community, her family, her friends and co-workers, but especially her beloved son, Husnain.
‘She died in the service of her son, but also of her co-worker who was in the car with her at the time and whom she had graciously picked up to go to work.
‘Zamira was the perfect mother, the perfect daughter, loved by everyone and the joy of the party, no one could notice the deep pain and hardship she had endured because she was always hidden behind a radiant smile. She loved her son more than anything in the world.
Hussainpoor has been raising her son alone since he was two years old.
Mr. Butler has initiated a GoFundMe page for Ms Hussainpoor, which has since raised more than $21,000.
“As a single mother, she was the sole breadwinner and parent of young Husnain, working tirelessly night shifts to support him financially and missing daytime sleep to spend what little time she could with him,” Butler wrote.
“Zamira did an incredible job raising Husnain, a 13-year-old boy who is extremely bright, compassionate and kind.”
“Although young Husnain has dealt with the situation with exceptional grace and patience, any child his age would inevitably feel the impact of losing his mother.”
Butler said Husnain, who never knew his father, would be cared for by his retired grandmother.
Funds raised by GoFundMe will go toward helping raise Husnain and “relieving the financial burden of these tragic circumstances.”
Police are investigating whether the driver of the van, which had P plates, was speeding at the time of the fatal accident.
Ms Hussainpoor’s colleague, who was also in the car at the time, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The 20-year-old driver of the ute was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.
