MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN has decided not to appeal the 12-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on the noontime show “It’s Showtime.”

“After careful consideration, ABS-CBN has decided not to appeal the MTRCB’s decision on ‘It’s Showtime’ to the Office of the President and instead serve the 12-day suspension, effective October 14 ” it said in a statement on Friday.

However, it insisted that the show did not break any relevant laws.

“We respect the authority of the MTRCB, but we humbly maintain that the program has not violated any relevant law,” it added.

On September 4, the MTRCB issued a 12-day ban on the show due to alleged indecent acts by the hosts. The suspension will take effect on October 14.

The MTRCB also rejected the motion submitted for reconsideration by the production team of ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” and GMA on September 28.

ABS-CBN also thanked viewers of the afternoon show, saying the show will return “stronger and better than ever.”

“Our sincere thanks to our viewers for their continued love and support for ‘It’s Showtime,’ which returns stronger and better than ever on October 28,” the statement said.
