The film also stars French actress Camille Cottin from the hit series Dix Pour Cent – known by the English title Call My Agent! on Netflix.
During her latest Good Morning America appearance, Abigail talked about the film’s premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month.
She reminisced about “joking with” Matt as “he was taking all those videos and selfies with the crowd and I was like, “You’re such a tourist. You’re such a dad. Stop.” He says, “It’s cool.”‘
Abigail stars in the film as a student studying abroad in Marseille, who is accused of murdering one of her friends and ends up in a French prison.

She insists she is innocent and sends her father – an Oklahoma crook played by Matt – to France to help with her release.
In preparation for the film, Abigail visited the Marseillaise prison Baumettes and got a sense of her character’s circumstances.
“They were very generous with their time and let us walk around a bit to see what everyday life would essentially look like for my character,” she said.

“And so the guards you see in the movie are real guards who work in the prison,” the Zombieland actress revealed.
The new film, directed by Tom McCarthy of Spotlight fame, will hit theatrical release in the United States this Friday.
While the premise has echoes of the Amanda Knox case, Tom has warned the public not to get carried away by the comparison.
“I was excited about that case and there was inspiration, but it’s not right if you put too much emphasis on it,” he told the Orange County Registry.
