“Part of the move to this very expensive building is that they want Good Morning America to terminate its lease on Times Square Studios,” an insider told Page Six.

The morning show often featured ordinary people in the background of the broadcasts, similar to its rival Today on NBC, which is filmed in Rockefeller Center.

But the move to Hudson Yards may not offer the same opportunities, as the new studio may not have windows or outdoor space.

‘It could be in the basement! The talent and producers are not happy about it (and) it leaves the benefit to Today,” the source said.

According to another insider, the ABC show won’t move until 2025.

“It’s the news business. Everyone is more focused on tomorrow than next month,” they said.

‘The city is the backdrop. It’s exciting that Disney is investing in a new, state-of-the-art building that will be great for the show.”

The move to the new Disney building would allow producers, staff and talent to work together under the same roof instead of splitting time between Times Square and the Upper West Side.

She is preparing for a town hall meeting next month, where she is expected to discuss the move.

An ABC spokesperson said: “Good Morning America is defined by the strength of our team in front of and behind the camera, the quality of our reporting and the long, trusted relationship with our viewers.

“Moving all ABC News teams to our new, state-of-the-art building was a strategic decision that will enable greater collaboration and innovation.”
