Radio host Antoinette Lattouf is returning to ABC even though she is currently suing the national broadcaster for firing her over social media posts in support of Palestinians.
Lattouf was fired by the ABC in December for her posts about the war in Gaza, just three days into a week’s work as a fill-in presenter on Radio Sydney’s morning show.
She launched legal action against ABC at the Fair Work Commission claiming the decision was political, based on her stance on Palestine and her Lebanese heritage.
The case is still ongoing, but Lattouf will return to ABC’s airwaves this weekend with a small role in the new TV drama House of Gods that begins Sunday.
In a strange coincidence, Lattouf plays a radio host mired in controversy, despite having filmed her scenes last April, months before the dispute broke out at ABC.

He added: “I cried and laughed and felt everything else while watching this beautifully filmed and written drama.
“I am so proud to have been asked to play a role in this stunning piece of storytelling.”
The show “follows the lives of an ambitious Iraqi-Australian family struggling with new power and privilege when their charismatic patriarch is elected head cleric of their local mosque.
“A story of faith, family, secrets and lies, House of Gods takes audiences behind the walls of an imam’s family and the community he leads, exploring the personal cost of power and ambition,” says promotional material for ABC for the series.
Messages posted in a group that included high-powered Jewish lawyers encouraged ABC chair Ita Buttrose (pictured) to be threatened with legal action unless Lattouf was fired.
